6. Set a speed dial the phone for 911. If possible, use the speaker mode to emergency dispatchers can hear what is happening in the background.
7. Install a reputable home alarm monitoring system. Does the company decals prominently on their doors and windows. This may deter thieves who are looking for an easy target.
8. Practice an escape plan with your family and know what to do when leaving home.
9. Install motion sensors for lighting on all four sides of the house.
10. Keep the window closed the cladding, especially at night.
The purpose of these councils is to create layers of protection for your home. If a criminal has to spend much time and effort to get inside your home, you can convince to move elsewhere.
