Firex Smoke
Smoke detectors will not stop ringing. Replacement units and batteries. HELP!?
I drive for 4-wire detectors, smoke Firex. Top randomly beep (no day or hour). Beeps once, pauses for 10 seconds, a new sound, stops for 10 seconds, and proceeded to make 2 more times for a total of 4 times. Then stops. I replaced all the batteries, however, did. I replaced all units and remains there. Could be a power interruption? My neighbor (and friend of the contractor) has suggested using a hairdryer and dry connections, if there is condensation or moisture. I did and still beeps. Firex called and were not helpful. I called the manufacturer (Townhouse is 5 years) and they told me to replace the units Thie, I did. I'm at a loss and therefore confused !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would anyone give me some advice? OK, here's the real thing ….. If you live in a condo or apartment, while their switches are connected in a group somewhere in the building with all the other towns. The problem panel shows if there is something wrong and call the fire department (with a marker next to the panel) a smoke alarm should be activated. These smoke detectors are not your standard 120v alarm you buy at Home Depot. In reality, 24v alarm that receives its power from the panel. Therefore, if all switches off the unit, the alarms are still active. It also by 120v detector retains a sound, just 24 is not enough to operate the detector. So what we have to do is find that your alarm company uses the association the building (has a label on the box) and the call for replacements that will work with this system. Indeed, it is likely that at least one smoke detector that looks different of others and because it is a heat sensor. Therefore, make sure you replace a smoke alarm fitted with a smoke alarm and a heat sensor with a heat sensor. Can check you wish to make a voltmeter in the circuit and you'll be getting 24v, even if it interrupts all power to the unit.
